About our masonry contractor team in Summerville

Here's who we are, how we work and what happens once you call us about brick, block or stone at your house.

How a commercial mason started a home business

I learned brick, block and stone on a big commercial outfit, where every course got measured and checked before anyone laid the next one. In 2013 I started Legacy Summerville Concrete and Masonry as a masonry contractor in Summerville, SC, to bring that same exact way of working to homes. We're best known for repointing and brick repair, with mortar chosen to suit the wall.

Most of our calls come from owners of older brick homes and from people planning walls, walks and patios. An older wall needs mortar that suits how it was built, because mortar that's harder than the brick around it can crack the brick itself. You can see everything we build and repair on our home page.

What I care about most is that a job is laid out right before anyone mixes mortar. Work that's square, level and built for the water it'll see is the work that holds up, so I'd rather spend an extra hour checking than have you find a problem down the road. We're fully licensed and insured.

What working with us is like for you

These are the parts of a job you'll notice from the first visit to the last joint, and they come straight from how I learned the trade.

Same person prices and checks

I come out to look at your job and measure it myself, and I'm back on site checking lines and joints while our own crew builds it. That way the person who priced the work is the one making sure it matches what you were told.

An estimate you can compare

Your written estimate lists the materials, the steps and anything that isn't included, in plain words. Set it beside other bids and you can see what each one actually covers, instead of comparing two totals that may not describe the same job.

Straight answers on repairs

We tell you what we found and what we'd do about it. When a smaller repair, like repointing a few failing joints, is the better call than rebuilding a whole section, we'll say so and price that instead. Satisfaction guaranteed on every job.

What happens after you reach out

Here's how a job runs with us, from your first call to the walk-through at the end, so you know who you'll talk to and what you'll get at each point.

  1. 1

    Call or send the form

Call (843) 376-1285 or fill out our contact form with what you're seeing and where the house is. We get back to you within one business day to set a time to come out.

  2. 2

    Get a free written estimate

I come out, look the job over and measure it myself. The estimate is free and done on site with no pressure to book, and it lists the materials, the steps and anything not included.

  3. 3

    Line up permits, then build

We find out whether your address sits inside city limits or in the county, check with the office that covers it and handle the permit and inspections when needed. Then our crew builds while I check the work.

  4. 4

    Walk through the finished job

When we're done, we clean up and walk the job with you so you can see the lines and joints for yourself. We'll also tell you how to treat fresh mortar while it cures, like keeping sprinklers off it.
